Our Mission and Core Values
Our philosophy of care at Willowbend Health and Wellness stresses prevention and patient education. Our mission is to provide the best highly skilled integrative functional medical care possible in a warm and caring environment. We do this by combining board-certified medical care with functional medicine in an integrative fashion to focus completely on your whole health and your unique needs. Your best path to optimal health and wellness is one that’s ideally suited to you.
Dr. Phyllis Gee founded Willowbend Health & Wellness upon the principle of patient empowerment and whole health being at the center of our care. Everything we do is centered around you, the patient – because you hold the keys to so many aspects that shape your health. Without your active participation in your journey to optimal health, none of our wisdom will likely create long term results in the achievement or maintenance of health and wellness.
We integrate findings from the most current clinical research to provide you with the most innovative, integrative testing and treatment options that combine the best of both Western and Eastern medicine. While it may take an average of 17 years for clinical breakthroughs to make their way into standard medical care, at Willowbend Health & Wellness, our entire team is deeply committed to shortening that lag.
Unlike conventional medical care, our team always focuses on root cause resolution – isolating the key imbalances that are responsible for the symptoms you’re experiencing right now in a holistic manner. Guided by our team, we will get to the root cause of your disease – using diagnostic tests that your current doctor may not have considered. We will seek to help you find solutions to address those root causes, not more treatments to cover up the symptoms.
An important part of the process is to help you uncover mediators in your environment to arrive at a “lifestyle prescription” that will assist you in your healing journey. We leverage group structures for patient education, peer-to-peer support, and accountability – with both your care team and your fellow patients rooting for your success. You will get compassion, honesty, and respect with the support and caring that are so essential to helping you have a lifetime of good health.
